How to Get Rid of Male Stretch Marks

Did you know that stretch marks don’t just plague women? That’s right, those nasty, incredibly annoying scars that cause ripples and discoloration in your skin have no mercy when it comes to gender. Men can get them, too!

Getting Rid of Stretch Marks (The Men’s Guide)

While the most common cause of these marks is pregnancy, which obviously only applies to the ladies, there are a few ways that men can develop stretch marks, too. The most common causes for men are:

  • Fast Weight Gain or Weight Loss
  • Growth Spurts (Teens Only)
  • Muscle Building

Down below we’re going to talk more about each of these and reveal how you men can work on getting rid of their stretch marks.

Weight Gain or Loss

Weight Gain

Probably the most common cause of stretch marks among men of all ages is weight. Whether they lose it too quickly or gain a lot over a short period of time, both are surefire ways to develop marks.

Whenever your skin is stretched too much too quickly or is forced to retract too fast it tends to develop marks. This is because your skin only has so much elasticity. Once it’s expanded beyond its normal limits, stretch marks form. The same is true whenever you lose a ton of weight quickly and the skin tries to shrink back down rapidly.

The best way to avoid this altogether is to either try and lose weight slowly or try to not gain a lot of weight too quick.

Growth Spurts

If you insist on gaining or losing weight fast you’ll definitely want to apply a stretch mark prevention cream such as TriLASTIN-SR or Revitol to help reduce your chances of forming marks. These products also work well if you’ve already developed marks and want to begin treating them.

Growth Spurts

This only applies to young men and teenagers, but stretch marks can also pop up on boys whenever they’re having growth spurts. It sucks and there’s no way to avoid it, but it does happen. The good news, however, is that these marks often don’t require treatment.

Why? Well, because the individual is so young the body is actually still changing, growing, and developing. This means the skin will also be constantly repairing itself and developing. It may take a few months, even a year or so, but the marks will eventually fade on their own when it comes to young boys.

Muscle Building

Muscle Building

Another way that men develop stretch marks that hardly anyone thinks of is through muscle building. That’s right, while you’re pumping iron to build up beefy biceps you’re also forcing your skin to stretch to make room for the new muscle mass.

If you build a ton of muscle fast, stretch marks can develop. It’s not extremely common, but it does happen to some men.

The easiest and most affordable way to treat marks that occur due to muscle building is to use a stretch mark removal cream. Our personal favorites are TriLASTIN-SR and Skinception. You’ll have to use the cream daily for a while, but it will help fade away the discolorations and ripples.

The only other options are to have laser treatments, which aren’t usually performed on the arms, or surgery. Both are quite pricey alternatives. We highly recommend sticking with a highly-rated cream instead as it is much more practical and affordable.
